About Therapeutic Massage

Muscular Therapy is an affordable and effective way to address your chronic aches and pains, change restrictive postural and soft tissue patterns, or help in general to reduce your stress and tension.

The Touch Research Institute has conducted numerous studies identifying the bio-chemical changes that occur with massage.  For example, the immune system -- which is often improved after a series of massage sessions.

At Karen Hilliard Associates, we apply the necessary Massage and Soft Tissue Techniques to bring relief from pain that can result from functional overuse, everyday wear and tear, to postural patterns that need some improvement.

Once the restrictive postural and movement patterns that inhibit us are addressed, and the muscular and nervous system is re-programmed by regular bodywork, changes can occur in the soft tissue. Release from particular holding patterns that we have carried with us (by habit) for much of our lives can also occur. The result is freer movement and a sense of grace and ease in the soft tissue.

Techniques range from moderate pressure to deep tissue, trigger point therapy, soft tissue release work, passive stretching and general relaxation massage.

At our comfortable offices in Brookline, our sessions range from 45 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on the client’s needs and schedule.

We offer quality care at affordable rates. Fees range from $75 to $140. Prepaid discounted packages are available.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact our office and discuss your options with us.
